Meet Allan Munroe – an 87-year-old Red Sox diehard. Still grieving over the recent passing of his wife, watching the Red Sox was his escape in her final months. So his family wanted to send him to Fenway to see the brick they’d bought to commemorate the marriage.
They raised money for the trip on GoFundMe, but once the campaign went viral, there was even more. Red Sox owner John Henry even gave up some of his own personal seats, and Allan even got to go onto the field, yelling, “Play ball!” to the crowd.
With just one kind act…an old man was instantly a kid again.
